Lees e-mail in je RSS Reader

Er is weer een nieuwe dienst bijgekomen.
Je kunt er nu heel makkelijk voor zorgen dat e-mailberichten in je RSS reader terechtkomen.
Het werkt heel simpel:
Abonneer je op een feed met het adres: http://mailfeed.org/rss2/kies_naam
Dat is eigenlikjk alles wat je hoeft te doen!
Alle berichten die gestuurd worden naar: kies_naam@mailfeed.org zullen automatisch in je RSS reader terchtkomen. Je hoeft je dus nergens aaan te melden of te registreren.
De kunst is natuurlijk wel om een naam te verzinnen die nog niet in gebruik is. Je hebt daar geen enkele controle op helaas. Je loopt dus kans dat als je kiest voor: bill@mailfeed.org de berichten ook elders terechtkomen bij iemand die dezelfde feed heeft aangemaakt.
Wat kun je hier nu mee?
Je hebt vast nog wel een abonnement op een mailinglist of nieuwsbrief waarvan geen RSS feed gegenereerd wordt. In dat geval kun je een @mailfeed e-mail adres verzinnen met een mooie fantasienaam en je daarop abonneren. De post zal dan in het vervolg keurig in je feedreader komen.

Ik heb het natuurlijk uitgetest en het werkt. De berichten komen alleen (nu nog) wel met een behoorlijke vertraging binnen. Het is dan ook in een paar dagen in elkaar gesleuteld door iemand die op dit lumineuze idee kwam. HTML mailtjes werken niet om beveiligingsredenen.

If this site becomes more popular than we can afford we might even turn it off (though that's quite unlikely at the moment). As we're thinking about new features we keep coming back to a single idea -- this is a public communication channel. Maybe we'll provide an OPML file for all feeds, or add a browseable directory. Maybe not, we'll see. But keep that in mind when deciding how to use this site: you're opening up your communication to the public. And because someone was asking: no, we don't have a business model.
