Wat gaat er nu veranderen?

Nadat nu zo ongeveer iedereen wel een bericht geplaatst heeft over het vertrek van Robert Scoble bij Microsoft lees ik nu eindelijk een bercht van iemand die zich waagt aan een aantal voorspellingen van wat er nu (in zijn ogen) hierdoor gaat veranderen. Het gaat om de "web profeet" Jeremiah Owyang die in zijn bericht de volgende opsomming geeft:

1. Microsoft not changed, the goodness stays and thrives
1. Channel 9 will not die (read the thread started by Scoble)
2. Maybe Niall Kennedy will become the voice --he's got the ability.
3. No impact to MSFT stock price
4. No press release from MSFT
5. Robert will still break news for MSFT, and will maintain and grow his relationships.
   
2. Scoble will be THE Tech Reporter
1. Focus on being a technlogy analyst and reporter
2. Background in Journalism (graduated from SJSU)
3. Back to his Valley Roots
1. May rent a room from Arrington? ;)
4. Has many, many connections
5. Has existing audience
   
3. Podtech to go multimedia, multichannel,
1. Podtech is primarily podcasts (audio) and will expand to Multimedia
2. Will use Multimedia (video, blogging)
3. Podcasts are very 'one-way' Robert will make the news 'two-way'
4. Cnet, Wired, Business 2.0, and Techcrunch in for some competition.
   
4. News and echo effect
1. Traditional News sources are slowly catching on board, and will finally get the story out by end of day today. (it's not even on NYtimes yet, although BBC is listening)
2. Those that don't publish the Scoble story by Tuesday are not listening to the blogosphere (first person news)
3. Wikipedia will be properly updated by today
   
5. The World
1. Companies will be more aware of their star bloggers
2. They will try to distribute the value among multiple bloggers
3. They will reward star bloggers and entice to stay at company
4. More bloggers will emerge, more conversations will take place --life goes on.
   
6. Scoble Happier
1. Closer to family, new job, time to start fresh.

Het volgende weblog waar ik me nu op geabonneerd heb is dus die van Niall Kennedy. Profeten moet je wel geloven, en ik moest er wel een posting aan wijden gezien wat de profeet in punt 4.2 stelt: "Those that don't publish the Scoble story by Tuesday are not listening to the blogosphere (first person news)"
